Legacy of a Guru is an Odissi dance performance, a classical dance form dating back to the 2nd century BC. In the dance performance you experience a myriad of moods! This odyssey will take the viewer through a journey, starting from a Mangala Charan – an invocation to Lord Siva in Tandava style, followed by intense & dynamic Gotipua Shthai, a signature Kalyani Pallavi of Guru Ji emoting the warrior mood of Raga Kalyan, followed by Ardha-Nareshwar – the psychic two sides of human nature – the male & the female, an Abhinaya based on the 18th century poet King Upendra’s cry to the Lord to save his honour. A grand finale of Dashavatar – the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu to save the world, from the 13th century poet Jaideva’s Geet Govindam brought to you by the whole troop. The performing artists are Guru Gajendra Panda (India), Priti Mastakar (Singapore), Parveen Nair (Malaysia), Gayathri Vadivelu (Malaysia) and Kaori Naka (Japan) and Lity Manisha (India).
